Funding was announced in 2005, for the ‘new’ Royal Children’s Hospital construction which saw the ‘old’ hospital expand its facilities to include an emergency department, specialist clinics, inpatient units, cardiac surgery and specialist wards, Intensive care unit, education activity wards, playgrounds, outdoor spaces and cinema. Making the RCH in Melbourne one of the best state-of-the-art children’s hospital in the world.
The emergency department is a stunning light filled atrium with a mass colourful and interactive art and sculpture displays; and a 2 storey coral reef aquarium that would bring a smile to any child’s face.
Trendgosa (formally known as GOSA) completed all joinery components including nurses workstations, reception counters, specialist wards and wall/ceiling panelling.
The ‘new’ RCH was officially opened by Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth, His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh and Victorian Premier Ted Baillieu in Oct 2011.
